Description
The Aerial Silks kit includes Aerial Dance & Acrobatics fabric (8-16m), 1 ceiling mount with two concrete plugs, 1 Figure 8, 1 360° swivel, 1 small 1-meter rope, and 1 set of safaty aluminum carabiners.
The Aerial Dance & Acrobatics Salachi Fabric is a medium-high stretch acrobatic fabric with a width of 1.50m. It is available in fixed lengths of 8m, 10m, 12m, and 16m. The fabric is medium to high stretch (12.5%) and made of 100% polyester, making it ideal for Aerial Silks practice.
How to calculate the required length of Aerial Dance & Acrobatics Salachi fabric:
To determine the amount of fabric you need, measure the height of the ceiling where the fabric will be installed. Multiply the ceiling height by 2 and then add 2 meters to the result (1m of fabric should touch the floor for each leg of the fabric). For example:
- For a ceiling height of 3m: 3m x 2 = 6m + 2m = at least 8m of fabric.
- For a ceiling height of 4m: 4m x 2 = 8m + 2m = at least 10m of fabric.
If necessary, a shorter fabric can be used on higher ceilings with the addition of an extension strap (providing an extra meter) or by using rope for larger distances.

The Aerial Dance & Acrobatics fabric is typically attached to a Figure 8, which keeps the two ends of the fabric at a small distance from each other, making it easier to climb. It also helps protect the fabric from wear and tear at the points where it contacts the mounting point. You can see exactly how the fabric passes through the Figure 8 in this video.
By using the swivel, the fabric can rotate 360 degrees.
Finally, the rope we use can be tied to a ceiling support base or a beam (metal or wood), always after ensuring its strength and stability.
