Make it yours and you are all set for your practice!
Installation instructions (Aerial Sling Kit)
The Kit includes all the necessary equipment for the installation of the hammock at your place. Recommended to be performed by an experienced tool user. We note down with a pencil the exact points where we will install our ceiling mount, and we drill the holes. We can hit the plugs lightly with a hammer to insert them. Drill the holes using the suitable drill and use the hammer to push the anchors all the way inside the ceiling. When the anchors are set well on the ceiling, tighten the nut with the appropriate wrench.
Necessary tools:
- Ladder
- Vacuum cleaner (used while drilling the ceiling to avoid eye contamination or dust on the floor)
- Percussion drill for concrete (10mm)
- Key 19mm
- Hammer
If you have any difficulty in installation, or if there is any particularity in the ceiling (plasterboard, wood, beams, etc.) do not hesitate to contact us to advise you on the best way of installation. Within Athens we undertake the placement of your hammock by our qualified technician at a cost of 50,00€.
How much space does an Aerial Sling hammock need?
Distance of the hammock center >1.5m from side walls or obstacles
Distance of the hammock center >1.8M from front/back walls
CAUTION!
These distances increase for higher ceilings. Tell us the specifications of the space you plan to install it, in order to advise you on the recommended distance for safe and comfortable use and for the number of hammocks that your space can support.
Placement of the hammock on the base
The Aerial Sling Fabric comes already gathered at the edges. You will need to unfold it completely for washing and drying. This will help keep it in a good condition over time.
After washing, we wrap the fabric with the aid of one extra person, holding it from its two sides lengthwise. We gather the fabric little by little in our palms, and we stretch it well in order to straighten it. Next, we tie our hammock with one of the ways mentioned below:
How to tie my hammock with ropes
How to tie my hammock directly on the carabiner
To create levels, fold the 2,5m ropes in half, and loop them through the base ring (see also the video). After tying the fabric with the ropes, thread the two ends of the fabric through the carabiners as shown in the picture above. Video, and then “snap” the carabiners into one of the loops of the belt. The level of the hammock for Aerial Sling practice should be at the height of our pelvis (about 80-90 cm off the ground).
Fabric Care
Because of their material, these types of fabric are sensitive to high temperatures. Wash them by hand or in a washing machine at 30 degrees without fabric softener as it may affect the fabric elasticity.
Ironing and drying in the dryer is forbidden!
Avoid direct exposure to the sun for drying, as this can affect the colour of your hammock over time – it dries quickly and easily in a shady place!
Durability
The fabric for Aerial Sling has been tested at 1270 kg load (breaking load) by our suppliers.
It is very durable and it does not tear apart easily. To avoid any kind of damage to the fabric, we take off any accessories before our practice and in general we do not come in contact with the fabric wearing metal objects: zippers, keys etc. In the very unfortunate event of a damaged fabric, do not try to sew it! It is of great importance to know that one of the fabric’s attributes is that any tearing does not continue, so there will be no damaged stitches.
